Default Who is running stock axles with over/near 300whp?

Just curious how many of you are running stock axles with that power? i am curious because i have read stories of people snapping them like twiges, which in my mind is because they don't have the slightest clue how to do a proper launch, and of stories of people pushing much more that 300whp and still using stock axles without any problems. Feed back from people who have ACTUALLY own a car with this power please leave some feedback. I am interested in what you have to say.

Ton's of people. I'm expecting 300ish whp on the juice, stock axels. Most people don't even factor axels into builds(mistake for alot of people).

There are people making 500-600whp+ with stock axles. SEARCH! This has been asked a million times lately and WILL yield the SAME answers....

yah thats who i thought was running them. If his axles can handle the power f paying dumb amounts of money on beefed ones. Stockers are dirt cheap so if one breaks oh well.

Our experiance was that up to 500whp everything is fine with stock prelude axles.
Pre load your axles before you launch.

hold the ebrake at the line while you put the clutch just before the engagement point. This takes all the slack out which means no jerking when you let out the clutch at 8000 rpm.

It's the truth not a claim. lol I have actually had people look under the car when I was changing my slicks back to drags so see if there were stock.

True! It's all in the driver IMO. I have personally ina mtter for 4 weeks put 5 axles in my freiends scott prelude when he had one. This car was on street tires and made a whoping 148 WHP!

IMO it doesn't really matter if your a noob to driving. A person "could" be driving wrong for years and don't know any better. So to them it may "seem" right to that person while in reality it's not.

Either way goodluck with your project

haha well then concentrate more on your build. Right now your still in the early stages if your more then year and 1/2 away. I wouldn't worry about axles at this point

hahaha its really funny that you said that. I am doing this build differently than my previous one. I am buying all the parts ahead of time. I haven't bought my new 4th gen yet as i am parting my old one out and don't have room.

In the mean time i am buying my turbo parts, suspension, interior etc right now. My engine is just about to arrive in the mail this week, the head is just getting hot tanked, seals all replaced etc, tranny was just done and then its getting all slapped together. I will literally have all the parts needed for my build by the end of this winter. I am just going to be waiting for the right 4th gen thats black in great body condition with a blown h22 in it to go up for sale. My guess is it will take about a year to find that deal. Once i get it i am estimating 3 weeks of swapping it in (on my schedule) installing the turbo, suspension etc.

Plus its winter in canada in t minus 3 weeks
