Default ITR Frt Strut Bar + GC Top Hats: Will it clear?

Does the OEM front strut bar clear GC top hats? Appreciate the input.

No, it's pretty close, but they do contact each other.

It didnt clear for me either. You'd have to take off a small chunk of both the gunmetal colored mounting points for the shock tower brace to clear.

Not the greatest pic, but the black sharpie line on the mounting bracket is roughly the ammount of area that needs to be cut or shaved down. I made that line back when I had the GC upper mounts and was planning to cut the brackets.

What kind of shocks are you using? You have the shocks internally shortened. Whatever is easiest I suppose.

I think that's just a reference picture. The thread asks about Ground Controls top hats, and that picture doesn't have them, but that does look like a good approximation of how much the GC top hat would stick up and interfere with the strut bar.

In that pic they're Mugen 5-way adjustable, the soft suspension "lowdowns" But yes that pic is just for reference, from when I did have the GCs/top hats and made that rough measurement.

Funny, I was told that N1's do not have numbered adjustment. They are infinately adjustable between hard and bone jarring. I would like to see pics.

What performance advantage does having GC top hats over stock have?

they give the shock approximately 1" extra of travel over the stock top hats, before they came out alot of people would add an extension to the top of the oem's for the extra travel

Come up to the two day auto-x next weekend in Danville with THSCC. It should be a hoot and we're grillin-n-chillin' after day one.
