Default HELP with Pioneer avic D3 and custom block off plate

so check this out....my birthday was yesterday and it just so happens my girlfriend got me a pretty nice surprise this year...she bought me the avic-d3.
now while this is all good, i dont know if im going to keep it due to the high theft rate that my car already comes with, i dont need more electronics to make thieves want it more...i debated about keeping it, and i feel bad that she spent soo much money on it.
im trying to protect it by creating a custom double din cover plate that would go over the stereo. has anyone done this or tried? i need some suggestions on what to do, cuz i doubt ill keep it if i cant cover it. my last car already got stolen and i dont need any more added attention to my current car...
it sucks cuz my girlfriend got it for my birthday, and its just fucked that i would want to return, even though i told her millions of times that i dont like the fact that she spends that much money on me...

HELP!

damn dude you have an awesome gf

AS for the face plate, i would take a DD face plate from your stock radio (or any other) get the front part off (the part with all the dials and what not) fill in the back with hot glue to hold everything in place, and you will need to make sure that your dash is deep enough to recess your avic-d3 enough so that when your parked and you put your false faceplate on it its flush with the dash. let me know if you need me to draw you a picture (not trying to sound like a dick) post up pics if you deciede to do it

P.S. i thought about doing this when i had my accord and the avic-d1, but that model and motorized face so it wouldnt work. yours doesnt so your fine

NOW i know that the words are kinda hard to read...ok.....this should be ample representation for this project seeing as i was able to come up with it in my head on my own...SOO here is..

If you have any questions drop them and i will be here to answer them, but seein as that took me roughly 30-60 minutes to complete, you should look at it ATLEAST that long trying to figure out waht im trying to say before you say, "i dont get it" im not being a dick, i just dont like holding peoples hand.

Now that you got that sorted out, have you looked into the security DIY's in this forum?

I bought another EG. I've had it for over a month now and still have not taken it out of the garage until I finish the security.

my car is pretty loaded on security...plus i have a daily driver lol. so that helps out a lot. whenever i do take out the integra, im usually with it all night and wont leave its side...im just worried for those couple of hours that the car sits at school...i dont want the windows getting broken.
