clutch leak?
I was told that I'm missing a plastic bushing that goes over the metal rod that connects the master cylinder rod to the pedal clutch, does anybody know where I can get one.. I checked autozone, strauss.. Etc. And another question.. I know that the brake fluid is not suppose to be empty or even move but mine drops little by little, and I've change the slave and master cylinder.. What else can it be??? Some sort of leak maybe???
Help me out somebody
Thanx

look at the clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder, rubber lines and hard lines as well as the connections between them all and see where the fluid is leaking at.
did you replace the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder without checking and making sure they were faulty?

You are going to have to clean every piece with parts cleaner and then keep an eye out for the wet spot, most ruys know how to find the wet spot. The dealer should have that spacer but if you bought the entire master cylinder, would it not come with the spacer and push rod also, yes it does cost more. Is it leaking into the car, is your clutch pedal and floor wet with brake fluid? Look behind the carpet all the way down to the sheet metal of the floor pan, it may be leaking from the master cylinder into the car.
i didnt check the master and slave cylinders if they were faulty,
and i replaced the master cylinder 2 times cus the first i didnt bled it out
and ive checked all the lines my guess is somewhere where the brakefluid reservoir line where it connects to the master cylinder, thats possible right?

i went to the dealership and they dont even have that part on the diagram and it didnt come with the master cylinder but i am going to check again. and its not leaking into the carpet or clutch pedal.
okay heres the deal tho, my mechanic replaced the clutch. so its not the transmission or anything, and the slave cylinder and master.
and we bled the system out with a pressure builder and im not gettin ALOT of pressure on the pedal, but enough so that i can at least drive the car.
but i have to press the pedal close t o the floor to even get on 1st gear.
and i know that has to do somewhat cause im missing the " bushing" and when i can feel that im loosing pressure little by little. and everytime i park now i always check the brake fluid level, and its droppin alittleeee bit.

You should always check a part to make sure it's faulty before replacing it. Just throwing parts at a problem is a good way to waste money. Not trying to be rude, but please keep this in mind for the next time, you'll thank yourself in the end.
If the fluid level keeps dropping in the reservoir then you have to have a leak somewhere. I dont know what else to tell you other than look over everything and see where it's wet with brake fluid, that'll tell you where your leak is at.

Get a bright flashlight and get the car up safely and look things over, there is only a few things involved, master, line or hose to slave and slave, pull the rubber boot back on the slave and see if its leaking into the dust cover (rubber boot), if its not leaking into the car then its an external leak, thats all there is.
