Default audio and alarm for 08 civic

i just picked up an 08 civic coupe (a/t) and thinking abt changing the stereo and possibly adding an alarm with engine start.

on my 97 civic, i have the keyless entry system. so when i changed the radio to a cd deck, i had to keep the stock radio in the back for the keyless entry to work since it is wired around the stock radio. then i added a clifford alarm with engine start, but never bothered to remove the stock radio since its hidden in the back.

now that the 08 civic has keyless entry, anti-theft immobilizer... i plan to install an aftermarket alarm with engine start before an aftermarket cd deck. if so, is there anything i need to know before i install it? i know i need an immobilizer bypass for the engine start to work. anything else? would the trunk release on the keyfob still work or would i need the alarm remote programmed to do it? the immobilizer would still be active after the aftermarket alarm is installed, right?

Nothing really funky with putting an alarm/starter into that car... The immobilizer bypass you know about, so the only other thing to worry about is the trunk pop, which you might be able to trigger with the trunk wire off the alarm... If not, you'll need a relay. No biggie.

so as long as i have an immobilizer bypass installed, there would be no problem with engine start right? anyone knows if i can use the key's trunk pop or would i need to program the alarm remote for that? does any of the buttons on the key works anymore or everything disabled?

about the radio.. i don't plan to change to an aftermarket cd deck for maybe a few months. but when i do, is there anything i should know? does the stock radio need to be pushed back like in my 97 civic or can i just take it out? would it have any affect to the immobilizer if i changed the stock radio to the aftermarket cd deck? is it possible to wire the steering wheel audio control to work on the aftermarket deck? i prefer wireless remote, but sometimes i think using the wheel audio control is ok.

Immobilizer Bypass connected to remote starter = no problems with remote starting.

That's a good question about using the key's trunk pop... I'm assuming that the new Civics have the buttons in the key like my wife's '07 Accord? Provided that you don't remove the factory keyless entry module, I don't see why the original trunk pop wouldn't work when you install the remote starter...

You don't need to worry about the radio controlling any of the security features... Honda only had that on the '96-'98 Civics...

You can get a SWI-X made by PAC to retain your steering wheel controls.
