Default 97 Civic LX motor swap question

I have a 97 Civic LX with a D16Y7 in it. number 3 cylinder is bad and i dont feel like messin with it. I found a D15B7 out of a 95 for $150. if i change everything like alt, distributor, intake, exhaust... will this long block work? im not looking for any power increase. just swaping a bad motor for a good one. also, will the 5 speed bolt up? thanks in advance.

itll be missing the crank position sensor on the oil pump..
i dunno if the dizzy will bolt to that head.. not sure.. maybe?.. could always get a d15b obd1 and cut/splice the connectors to obd2..
i think the intake/exhaust manifolds will all bolt up..
the manual trans should bolt aslong as it has a flywheel and not a flexplate.. and aswell as your car being a manual vehicle...
i think all the sensors on the head from the obd2 d16y7 are on the d15b.. i think they are all the same...

that is the most important part right there....
no crank position sensor=no spark=no dice.

i read somewhere that the obd2 oil pump doesnt fit on the d16z6 or d15b blocks.. i dunno if its true.. maybe its just the plastic cover that doesnt fit.. i dunno.. you have a blown engine.. it wont hurt to try.. if not there is a cam sensor in the distributor i think you can tap into for it.. i dunno..

i just found that ckf bypass you're talking about geebs. it taps into the ckp and uses that for the signal. im gonna try to swap the pumps first and if that doesnt work then i will do the bypass which should solve all of my problems. thanks.

BTW geebs, I notice you're from kingston. im from east greenbush. i was just in kingston today actually for a delivery. small world.
