I have a friend that has a'91 civic wagon with a d16y8 swap, obd II and the whole car is is running on a 96 civic wire harness. we were wondering to to hook up the climate controls in the car since the wiring is different

Let me get this straight: you used the OBD2 dash harness as well?

Not going to work. You'd be better off re-installing the stock harnesses and converting it and the motor to OBD1.
