Hey guys its been a while since I've posted anything so bare with me. I have a 1999 civic DX Hatchback that I want to do a rear disc conversion on. I have the hole rear trailing arms and brake setup from a 2000 si (pads, rotors, lines, calipars etc.) I was wondering if I needed anything else to complete this swap? I wanted to know what porportioning valve to use as well as the brake master cylinder and booster. Please give me all the advice that you have and I'm sorry if I have left any information out, just let me know what you need to know. Thank you

valve, M/C, and booster can be used off of a 00 si. make sure, you keep you existing control arms, since 96-00 civic have longer ones. also, be prepared to replace the control arms if bolts seize up and break. also, the fittings on the prop valve can be just as difficult if they are rusted. make sure you use a 10mm flare nut wrench instead of the 10mm open end wrench.

i suggest the day before (or night) you start your project, you saok the bolts with some wd-40 or pb blaster.

you wont need the 40/40 prop vavle bro, you already have it equipped from the factory. All 96-00 civic dx/cx's come with the same prop vavle as the the 99-00 em1.

hmm...good to know, i thought they were different.

Correct! Also, the BB is the same size on a DX and an Si. Basically all you need is a 99-00 Si MC when you upgrade your front brakes.

sweet, i didn't know that too. thought it was the same as the eg's.

 

Man thats a good thing to know. I'm glad I don't have to replace my proportioning valve now and at least i know that I need to get a si MC. Thanks guys for your help!

the MC isn't needed but it is recommended...

 

If the Si lines don't fit (I don't know if they do or not), use Integra rear lines.

The 99-00 Si lines will fit.

 

What if I get steel braided after market lines? (front and rear) Would I get the lines for the civic si, dx or what? There are some manufacures that ask if you have abs or not. I can't figure out whitch lines to get that will be the right ones to use.

tell them the year of your car, that you have rear disc brakes, non abs.
