need help with swap
sorry if this has already been a topic i couldn't find it threw "search"
i pulled my d16y8 outta my 98 ex civic cuz i bent the frame . i wanna swap it into my 89 hatch whut all am i going to have to splice(or how hard is it to ) to keep it OBD2 i heard it would b easier to convert it 2 OBD1 but i dont really have the extra $ to buy the parts and ecu for OBD1. has anyone done this swap?
thanx

thanx</TD></TR></TABLE> it's doable, but such a pain, better off going to obd0 or saving up for obd1.
I know if you dig long enough you'll find the how tos.

dizzy injectors wiring etc, it's in faqs, IIRC the 92-00 forum has an awesome retro fitting wiring write up for obd2- obd0.
being the age of the car it's legal for you to install it as an obd0 motor.
Really best way imo is obd1.

Also, your Y8 tranny is hydro and your hatch has a cable.
My friend was trying to do the exact same swap you are talking about and ended up ditching everything cause it wasn't worth it. But good luck.

so even if you were to stick with obd-2, you'd need to buy the ecu and whatnot.
just convert it to obd-1. if you claim you cant afford it, dont play cars.
