Default Misfire Randomly??

Ok so I have a 96 coupe w/ d16y8 drop in k&n filter,dc header, stg 2 clutch n 7.5lb flywheel, unorthodox undrive pulley. So sometimes it will kick on and randomly misfire across all cylinders and of course my check engine light comes on, but then other times my check engine light wont even be on. When it is on and i accelerate past 3500 rpms my light tends to "brighten" up. I've checked my plugs, my wires are msd (new), also have a new rotor button an distrib. cap. I have a blaster coil but no igntion for it. So my questions are is it my distributor causing the misfire? And does anyone have a link where I could find a diagram for just wiring the blaster coil directly without the ignition box? Thanks for the help.

Any time lights in your gauge cluster are getting brighter as you rev, that's a reflection of your alternator picking up speed and providing more current to the circuit. Have your alternator tested. If it's not charging well, your battery won't have a lot of juice at startup and it could lead to ignition issues.

This is the first step and it's free.
