Default ek sedan midpipe on ek hb, will it fit?

I have an exhaust midpipe of a 97 civic ex sedan, and I want to know if it will fit on a 96-00 Civic HB DX. Will it fit?

Unfortunately no, the HB's are different.
Ek coupes and Sedans 96-00 are the exact same though.

That may be true, to be honest ive never heard of someone using the same B-pipe from an EK hatch. I just know from experience because i have an EK coupe B-pipe in my EK sedan.

yeah. i am always looking for parts that will interchange. i found out looking through the honda repair manual that the wheelbase is the same and i only assume the frames are identical between the wheels (underneath that is).

Checking the Honda EPC, the '97 DX hatch and the '97 DX sedan both use the same B pipe part number. The EX sedan is of course a different part number though.

97 EX SEDAN
PIPE B, EX.
18220-S01-C81

97 DX HATCH
PIPE B, EX.
18220-S01-C21

97 DX SEDAN
PIPE B, EX.
18220-S01-C21

This is because the EX has the Cat in the standard position at the bottom of the header, connecting to the B-pipe, rather than all the D16y7's having them on the header itself. That can cause allot of confusion for some ppl new to the game.

I understand that. In fact, I have a car with a D16Y8 and a car that used to have a D16Y7 here.

I'm not sure off hand if I could put a Y8 B pipe on a Y7 car, regardless of body. I don't know if a B pipe from a '97 EX sedan could fit on a '97 DX sedan.

You can put the D16y8's B-pipe onto a car with the D16y7, but you need the EX cat as well, because the B-pipe is shorter by about a foot, for that reason.

Okay, so then the OP's question is answered.

The EX sedan B pipe should fit onto the hatch, but the hatch is gogint o need an ESX cat too.
