clutch problems
Ive been racking my brain on this one!!!
If anyone can help, that'd be great. I've got a 1990 civic DX 4dr w/ a 1.5 liter. I swapped out my oem engine when it gave out at 251k miles w/ an '89 1.5 liter engine from the exact same style civic. Now my 1990 civic is a 5sp manual, and the '89 civic was an automatic trans. I bought a new clutch disc, pressure plate, pilot bearing, release bearing, and kepted my original flywheel (obviously). After all was installed, the engine runs great, but the 5sp trans is always engaged (or it seems like it). If the trans is in neutral, I can turn the engine over and it runs great, but even if I push in the clutch pedal I can't put the trans into any gear AT ALL!! And if the trans is left into any gear before I turn the engine over, the car stays in gear and lurches forward even w/ the clutch pedal pushed all the way in. Everything below I've adjusted and checked to book specs.
Clutch cable
Endplay at both trans and pedal
Made sure the cluch disc is not backwards
Made sure clutch splines and shaft splines lined up (w/ alignment tool also)
Any help would be great
sorry, forgot to update my email. feel free to send advice or let me know your online. I'll try to check tomorrow.....Please hehehehehe need help!!
