Default Colder PLugs??

What does it mean to run a colder plug. I understand part numbers but what does it do?

pretty much the higher the step number the colder it is, and the colder it is, the faster it'll transfer heat to the head, resulting in prevention of detonation. i don't know the theory going behind "too cold" or whatever, nor do i know the coldest step.

you dont really need them unless you're boosted. i'd go with a 7 or 8 step depending on the setup. a .28 gap would suffice, although a .32 is ideal ( correct if i'm wrong. i'm only going by memory )

come back with more questions if you have any

It means the colder the plug, the more heat it will transfer into the head/engine and away from the tip of the spark plug.

yes, because heat isn't retained in the combustion chamber as long.
