Default will crx si harness work in civic with mpfi?????????

alright well in my hatch right now there is a dx harness converted for mpfi and vtec (the car had a b16 in it which i pulled out) and the engine i put in is a sohc zc that came out of my wrecked crx dx with a full si harness. After the swap into the hatch it throws a code for Electrical Load Detector and it runs like crap (almost like it isnt running on all cylinders). Now my question is can i take the full (dash and engine) harness out of my crx and swap it into my hatch?????? I know that the climate control is different and such but essentially will it work and allow me to smog my damn car????????

By the way the hatch is a 1990 and the crx is a 1988.
Thanks and please help fast i need the answer asap....

It can be done, but will be a major PITA. It would be best to figure out what's wrong with the existing harness and try to fix it.

what are the biggest problems with doing it because the harness that is in the hatch right now is really hacked up and i dont think it is even worth messing with.

There are a lot of differences between the 88-89 and 90-91 harnesses. Basically you'd be rewiring the whole thing anyways.

alright the will the si engine harness connnect to a civic si dash harness (if i can find one of these by itself) because i need something to fix my problem asap. Or couldnt i just take the interior stuff out of the crx and put it into the hatch so that it will all connect or is this not an option? I am just needing something fast because i am supposed to get the car smogged by tomorrow.

Thanks for the help

So, wait. What trim level is your hatch? You never mentioned it.

I really wouldn't plan on getting it smogged tomorrow, you could have a real mess on your hands.

the hatch originally was a dx with an automatic. The owner that did the b16a swap converted it to mpfi and manual transmission as well as adding vtec wiring. The engine i put into the hatch is a sohc zc mpfi that i had in my crx dx which i converted all over to si wiring (full factory harness). All i really care about for right now is that the engine will run fine and the gauges, fuse box and all other essential things will work in the hatch with the crx wiring. I know the climate control is different but i can deal with that later. I have a gauge cluster from the crx that is fine which i could also use in the hatch.

I told you you should have left that **** alone man. It was running fine before too, wasn't it?

Should have left the B and parted out the crx.

AND kept this all in one thread too.

yeah yeah but i didnt want to deal with smogging the b16 and it needed mounts and axles, but yeah it ran alright just a rough idle when cold. About keeping this in one thread i need help as soon as possible and i thought by making a seperate thread it would gain more attention to my problem.
