My car is finally driving again!
u might remember that a few weeks ago while driving in 6th gear my clutch went out. well it was a hassle trying to see if anyone would help me (ie NAH) and when that wasnt going to happen it was time to find the cheapest place to do it. well i found a place that said they would do it for $750 plus tax for parts and labor. i'm thinking sweet *** sweet. a honda certified shop for half the price of the stealership. well i get it there and they call me the next day and say that is the price just for the labor and parts are going to be close to $550. well screw that. i paid my buddy a few hundred to help me out. i found the clutch kit for wholesale and tax free (OEM Honda) for $290 and set out to do what needed to be done. well it is done and driving and it is so much better!!! i mean seriously leaps and bounds. i went to the stealership and bought the new MTF to put in and it is ****** NIIIIICE! i also went ahead and put on teh Eibach Sportlines ive had sitting here for months and months. i'll remove em later and put stock back on but til i actually get ready to sell the car i might as well put em to use since no one was buying it.
anyway, the car is back in awesome driving shape and here are some pics of what happened. it's not weed in my hand. its the inside of our clutch. apparently they are insulated with kevlar composite or some ****???? anyway, enjoy the destruction.

well it looks like i wont have the car too much longer. as in this week. i took it to an acura dealer while checking something out and they offered me damn near payoff for the trade in. so i might be going that route and getting rid of it asap so as to not destroy anything else with it. guess i'll be gettin a rex and boostin the **** outta it. dunno yet. still waiting for everything to finalize

Considering WRX's have shitty-*** transmissions, and you've had two problems with your SI so far non-boosted.. I'm gonna have to go ahead and say poor choice. If you wanna 'boos the ****' out or a 'rex', expect tranny problems.
Edit - Unless you're talking about a CRX, then I'm gonna have to say

el i was talking about a crx. i miss my 91 si and i might have a line on a clean 88 hf. i'm still gonna get something else to have as my daily, but i figure that if i'm not paying $600+ a month to drive my SI around, then i can be using that money to build a crx the way i want it. i'm going back to the acura lot in a minute and i'll know for 100% certain at that point if i'm gonna have to start removing stuff and get it ready to go.
and ben if i could FIND an evo LOCALLY for sale, i might be tempted to jump in it and take it for a test drive and bring it home, but i cant for the life of me find one near me for sale. there were 3 evos out last night and 4 si's (mine WOULD have been number 5) and the si's can sometimes hold their own against an evo.

what? are u talking about the evo? 9 other people have them? im confused. each car mentioned is a popular platform for performance and upgrades. the crx is just much cheaper to work on and fix. for the price of the new motor in the si i could have gotten a jdm b18c and a turbo kit. either way, the si has been fun. new thread coming up
