Well, hello there.
Hello everyone!
I'm a new member to the Honda-Tech world...and most automotive repair. I own a 2010 Honda Fit 5-Speed that I absolutely love. I joined to get some tips on how to keep my beat-up, little car running a little longer (hopefully WAY longer). I bought my "spaceship" in 2013 and with 23,000mi. It now has close to 117,000mi and has been such a gem. Recently, my clutch died (literally last night) and my car is currently a giant paperweight sitting my apartment complex parking lot. I'm mostly looking for pointers/info about aftermarket parts versus OEM parts, which companies are the best, and where is the most reliable to get them. I have ordered a LuK clutch kit and an AMS flywheel from RockAuto and am going to attempt to replace the clutch this weekend with a friend who's a mechanic, but in the event that I have to find an alternate - I've read some awful reviews about RockAuto and their reliability - I'd love some feedback about where else to get them. My Honda is definitely not a performance vehicle, I would love it if it was, but I'd like to keep her around even after I pay off the lean.
Any tips for this poor, under educated girl are welcome!!
