Default compression test results.....

stock b16 i got 180 across the board except #3 it was 120. it doesnt smoke, overheat, or blow smoke out the breather so im leaning toward headgasket issue since i can see it leaking out of one corner of the motor. any other ideas what it may be? stock b16 t3/t4 10 psi crome pro

Pour a cap of oil in there, redo compression test. If it goes up its the rings!

the oil you are seeing is not from the headgasket. its coming from somewhere else and builds up at the corner of the head.

compression tests dont tell you very much other than something is wrong. do a leak down test and it will tell you the whole story, where the loss of compression is coming from.

leak down test is key. also listen for air escaping out the IM and the exhaust

so the original test results where 180 180 60 180? then you put a cap of oil and it was 120? Sounds like rings are going out ot me, but like everyone else said, go do a leakdown test and let us know the results

something tells me you have a faulty PCV or hose leading to... that tends to be the leanest cylinder because of the PCV. Any chance the cylinder's rings has an abnormal amount of buildup binding the rings? Let a bunch of seafoam soak in the cylinders overnight, then in the morning, fire it up, should help a little. your car will smoke out the neighborhood with the seafoam, but I use that **** to soak out and clean out the cylinders in motors that I am not rebuilding the bottom ends.
