Is there a way to mod your e-brake so that it does not lock in the up position? I think the cusco ebrake button pictured below does this. I think it would be a beneficial mod for taking hairpins at autocross.

I live in the flat lands of Canada. I can always just put it into first when parking (that's what I used to do with my old car which had ebrake problems).

I thought about this, but I'm going at such slow speeds. I'll give it a try next weekend during my fun run and see what happens (crosses fingers).
E-braking is the slow way to get around paved surfaces.
Left foot braking is what you're looking for. Try not to total the car the first time you try it.

Anybody try the FWD forward-donut methood with the fast food trays? You need your ebrake for that. Call me a stunna but it looks fun as hell.
sack-who must try at least once

Craig - Who knows vtec works in reverse
I always ***** out at around 4.5k because reverse whines like a sunuvagun. Still have yet to do it. But when I do, I'll be sure to crank the wheel and *M*A*S*H* IT!

You use it when you need to slow down just a little bit, but not enough to downshift. You stay on the throttle (not necessarily WOT), and squeeze the brake with the left foot. You have to have a well trained left foot, because most people will mosh on it like a clutch pedal, and you'll probably scare the **** out of yourself and everyone around you, and/or crash.

I've heard of some people who will push the release button in and then drill a small hole through the handle and the button. This will let you insert a thin piece of metal such as a cotter pin. when the metal is in there, the button does not pop out and will not lock in the up position. You can just grab the handle, give it a quick yank and then let go. when you are finished your race, pull the pin out and the brake is back to normal. HTH
