Default E-Brake mod...

Is there a way to mod your e-brake so that it does not lock in the up position? I think the cusco ebrake button pictured below does this. I think it would be a beneficial mod for taking hairpins at autocross.

Why don't you just hold onto the handle and keep the button depressed?

No flaming, but wouldn't such a mod make the e-brake useless for anything other than autocrossing (e.g. parking)?

I live in the flat lands of Canada. I can always just put it into first when parking (that's what I used to do with my old car which had ebrake problems).

E-braking is the slow way to get around paved surfaces.

Left foot braking is what you're looking for. Try not to total the car the first time you try it.

I thought about this, but I'm going at such slow speeds. I'll give it a try next weekend during my fun run and see what happens (crosses fingers).

once in the desired gear, you drive your car like a go-kart...

leaving your left foot on the brake..

very good for autocrossing...as long as the course doesnt require you dont need to shift alot

Why not just remove the ratchet part of the ebrake

Anybody try the FWD forward-donut methood with the fast food trays? You need your ebrake for that. Call me a stunna but it looks fun as hell.

There's another thing! Pointless, slightly harmful thing you can do to your car but gotta do at least once...

I always ***** out at around 4.5k because reverse whines like a sunuvagun. Still have yet to do it. But when I do, I'll be sure to crank the wheel and *M*A*S*H* IT!

You use it when you need to slow down just a little bit, but not enough to downshift. You stay on the throttle (not necessarily WOT), and squeeze the brake with the left foot. You have to have a well trained left foot, because most people will mosh on it like a clutch pedal, and you'll probably scare the **** out of yourself and everyone around you, and/or crash.

Do you apply brake upon turn in?

I've heard of some people who will push the release button in and then drill a small hole through the handle and the button. This will let you insert a thin piece of metal such as a cotter pin. when the metal is in there, the button does not pop out and will not lock in the up position. You can just grab the handle, give it a quick yank and then let go. when you are finished your race, pull the pin out and the brake is back to normal. HTH
