Anyone ever use this Oil Filter? Opinions....
http://www.trufilter.com/why.htm
Anyone ever use one of these or think it's worth it. I'm thinking about getting one of these. And note, I'm not buying this cause I think its going to make my car any faster or improve HP. I would buy it because it would be one of the best filter media options around.
I think the cost is around $145

I have never heard of it. Persoanlly, I am little apprehensive of about anything that claims to be "good for life".
I will stick with the Honda OEM filters myself, but to each their own.

I'll stay away from US Honda's OEM filters. Never heard anything bad about them, but I just want to be safe. I've been using Mobil 1, but gets expensive so NAPA Gold works for me.
Here's something interesting you guys might like. This guy did his own tests of oil filters for Honda applications and here's what he came up with. Not too sure about his credibility so you can take this for whatever it is.

I feel that you would be much better off using a new spin-on oil filter during each drain than to spend $145 on the "good for life" filter. For one thing, you will have to clean the filter element using a solvent. What a mess! A top notch Amsoil EAO13 oil filter costs about $12 if you are a Preferred Customer. I believe you will find that it is much better at filtering the oil than the "good for life" filter. I feel that using a top shelf synthetic oil, such as Amsoil, paired with a good quality oil filter (Amsoil, Wix, K&N) is the best approach to engine lubrication.

Honda filters are one of the best filters you can use. Put it like this if you use a "good for life" filter it is like taking a shower and putting the same underwear on. The filter also needs to be changed, it makes no sence to change the oil and not the filter. that is just my .02 cents thought. Even thought i worked for honda for 2 years and now i have spent 2 yrs in the army working on humvees.
Okay, I understand where you guys are coming from. I keep hearing reference to "For life" I would not be using this the entire time owning the car. And the filter media is Stainless Steel, not paper. I'm sure you can get a replacement screen if you wanted to as well. Also I am not knocking Honda OEM, I just like the thought that it had better filtration than a paper filter. The selling point for me is filtration, not the "for life" aspect.
My service department has done roughly 41600 oil changes the 4 years i've worked there and never have had a Honda oil filter issue that wasn't the result of install error.
I think people just sit around looking way too far into things. A stock oil filter is fine if you change it when it's due.

i think all this talk about oil filters/oil is crazy. these hondas will last waay over 100k easily, with little engine wear if things are followed to spec...and most of you will not have the car long enough to any of it to affect you anyway.
just use a widely marketed synthetic, change it every ~5k (even more if you aren't abusive) , and a solid filter changed every other change and call it a day. you will never know the difference and neither will the next couple owners of your car.
