talked to my machine shop guy and he has a 9 sec CRX says he uses Royal purple 10w30 and a k&n oil filter, just wondering what everyone is using as far as an oil filter on their boosted setups, especially the higher hp ones (400whp+). Im pretty set on 10w30 royal purple, but not sure on the filter.

Mobil 1 5w-30 with Hamp Oil filter (Got them mainly for my N/A car, but I love in oil pressure increase, so I use them for my boosted app as well.)

I'm pretty sure FRAM are supposed to be one of the worst filters out there...
I would use either pure one purolator filters or the s2k toyo riki filter(non fram)

Im sure fram isnt the greatest, but Im sure it does its job just fine. Many people use them w/o ruining their engines. Not to mention how many people do you know of that turbod their motor and lasted over 100k miles? And when it did let go it was b/c the filter didnt get something?
I have never heard of it.

Well... I wouldn't be caught dead with a Fram on my motor. I had a friend that did a lot of auto x and used a couple Fram filters and unfortunately one fell apart and ruined his $3000 race motor. It's sad when a $5.00 part can screw it up. Fram USED to be good... Don't get me wrong they had a very reputable name but they're no longer made by the same company and are no longer made to a good standard.
I've used Purolators, Mobil (overly expensive), NAPA filters (very good).
Best thing to do is get an oil filter cutter and cut them open everytime you change your oil. This is a window into the motor to see what parts are wearing.

The shitty orange FRAM filters are $5 around here now, so I run HAMP for $2 more. I've used the old Filtech(sp) OEM, Pure One, Wix, K&N, and Napa Gold filters in the past and had good experiences with all of them.
OEM S2000 filter, part number 15400-PCX-004. It's made by Toyo Roki in Japan and fits older style honda filter wrenches.
I also have a huge stock of pre-Katrina Mobil 1 that I bought at Pep Boys for half price when they had those MADD calendars. 0w-40 for the winter, and 5w-40 for the summer. I don't think I'll buy Mobil 1 again. They've raised the price and lowered the quality.
