Default 06 si hybrid w/dyno!

we just got this k24/k20 hybrid done in a 06 si.. kid spun a bearing in the stock motor so we slapped a k24 crv bottom end in it

the ONLY mods are cold air intake and a greddy exhaust

thats compared to a bone stock 06 si we dyno'd a few months ago.

im kind of suprised how well it runs on the stock ecu, as you can se its a bit lean up top and vtec is WAYYYYY too high as usuall. we are still exploring tuning options..

Why is a CR-V block revving to 8k? Was it a built bottom end? If not, I hope you're not doing that on a daily basis.

I'm not an expert on this dyno stuff, but I know graphs and don't see anywhere that says 8,000 revs, if you read the graph looks like it measures in Power (HP) and Speed (MPH) and also the Air/Fuel Ratio

A bone stock Si will rev to right around 8k.

If it was a K24A2 block, then I'd agree with you. Even then, I wouldn't do it ALLL the time. I'd take it to 7600rpm max, and MAYBE 8k at the track. I know plenty of people revving that high with a TSX bottom end, but def not with a CR-V bottom end. I'd tell that guy not to go past 7500rpm, just for the sake of the motor. Especially since there's no way to custom tune it.

Not all OEM K24's were built equally. The customer is just risking blowing a rod or spinning another bearing. That's all. I definitely wouldn't advise him to do so.

Here are some pics of the OEM CR-V connecting rods. I can't seem to find pics of TSX rods.

i understand the rods are weany, but we did about the same setup in a buddys ek hatch, that thing has seen a year and a 1/2 of 8500 rpms w/o a problem.. 8000 will be ok. we are installing a greddy e-manage ultimate as we speak to get it tuned up.

i wanted to use the aem fic, but the damn harness from boomslang basicly doubles the price of the fic.

Well good luck. Was the EK a daily driven car? Good luck regardless.

Were you able to use the stock FA5 mounts on the K24 or did you have do some fab work? I know in the DC5 the CRV passenger side mount is required.

Keep us posted on the outcome of the e-manage ultimate tuning session.

I don't understand what you're trying to say about my post. I just stated the obvious that the graph says nothing about RPMs. It is measured in MPH. I know what the redline on my SI is thank you
