iacv hoses
cant get the iacv vacuum hoses off and i really need to clean the iacv. how do i remove them without them ripping or getting damaged. Also where is the idle control screw on a dohc zc manifold thanks
there not vacumm lines there coolant lines and on mine there is alittle screw on the iacv that u can adjust idk about urs tho? and also there is a screw on the throttle body u can adjust but what is ur problem exactly?
the problem is that when i start the car up if its cold it will idle at 2k. Then will go down to 1500 when its slightly warmed up. And if im in traffic it will bounce literally between 1500 and like 700 rpms. So im going to try and clean the iacv really well (with brake cleaner) and if that doesnt help ive heard that it might be a vacuum leak but how do i check for where one would be and how do i find it thanks.

OP, you can just cut the hoses off if you need to and just get some new tubing at an auto parts store. In fact, you can clean the IACV with it still attached to the vehicle if it really comes down to it.
To adjust the idle, there is a screw on top of the TB for that. You may just try to turn down your idle speed and see if that helps, the DOHC ZC I last owned had an idle screw that would back itself out periodically.
Lastly, to check for vacuum leaks, spray carb cleaner around the IM, TB and vacuum lines, if the idle speed changes, you know where your leak is.
