New Clutch ???
Ok, I recently installed a new clutch (Centerforce Xtreme or something), new flywheel, release bearing, and slave cylinder. Installed everything correctly, drained and bled my clutch line; connected every sensor, and fire it up... Starts fine....PROBLEMS are... SLIGHT SLIGHT grinding noise when clutch is not pressed in (I thought maybe since it was brand new it needed a LITTLE break in) slips into every gear VERY smoothly, but the clutch doesn't seem as STRONG as it used to be... like the actual pedal is not as hard to press in, but during my short little test drive it grabbed GREAT and shifted smoother than it did when I bought it. Any ideas?
Well, maybe you just had low fluid before and so after the fresh bleed clutch effort came back closer to normal. As for the grinding, if the car is running great, I would just give it a little more time and see if it gets better. If it doesn't get better or it gets worse, I'd pull the tranny back out and make sure that everything is still aligned and torqued properly. If it is, then definately make sure that the tranny is aligned perfectly with the engine and that all of the bolts are torqued to spec.
thanks for the info, yeah i have school tomorrow so I'm not gonna drive it there, when I get out of school I'm gonna see if I missed a sensor or something that might be causing the check engine then I'll DD it and see if the noise goes away.
If your noise goes away with the clutch pedal pushed in and comes back when the clutch pedal is out you are hearing a noisy transmission input shaft bearing
