Problems with starting.
Hi,
I have a 1991 Prelude S and occassionally have problems with getting it to start. Sometimes when it is hot outside I try to start it and it struggles, but won't quite turn over. It usually then starts if I just wait for 10 minutes or so. The most frequent problem that I have with it, however, is when I turn it off and then try to start it again a short time later. It is the same problem as when it is hot outside, it struggles hard but doesn't quite turn over. I wait for 10 minutes or so and then it starts up fine. My battery and connections are brand new and it runs perfectly when it actually starts. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

What do you mean by "it struggles"? Does it slowly crank and finally fire up? Could be your starter. I had a similar issue in my Z34. Eventually, it just stopped even trying to turn over.
I don't know how being hot is affecting it though. Possibly a fuel issue? Perhaps it's not getting enough fuel to fire up until you try to crank it a few times?
Just throwing some ideas out there.

It struggles by just turning over for a long time but never actually fires up. I usually just sit and wait for about 10 minutes or so and then it will usually fire up. I spoke to a guy at a repair shop and he said it could have something to do with a coil in the starter?
