Default compression test done (LOOK)

Ok so I did a compression test on my 89 civic 1.5 dx 5 speed. The results are as follows..#1 180,#2 181,#3 181, #4 180. ..Do these numbers sound normal for this motor. All stock no modifications. The reason why I did a comp check is because I am loosing oil. I am thinking its the valve guides on the head but I am not sure what the compression is suppose to be at on this motor. Any help would be appreciated.

that is about right i did mine and they were 190

across the board

as long as there consistant youre fine

if the valve seals are going you would be burning the oil meaning smoke from your exhaust

i would put yor car on a lift and look on the back side of the block for any driping
or under the timing cover

check under the distributor for an oil leak. also check the crank pulley seal.

It does leak a little bit. I noticed that the exaust is black. The plugs all came out clean except for #2. It was not oil soaked but it was not as clean as the rest.
Do you think it is the head(valve guides) or should I just get another motor?

burning oil makes your smoke blue. if you dont have blue smoke coming out of your exhaust, i would look for a leak somewhere.

your compression results are perfect.

When I step on the throttle I see kind of like gray smoke comming out.It doesnt look like blue smoke. Exaust pipe is black though.

and if you pull your spark plug wires out and you see oil it can be from the valve cover gasket..
