Default ITR almost stolen: WTB OEM ITR Shift ****.

PY 2000 ITR

I woke up this morning to find my car doors unlocked and my shifter **** gone. The plastic around the steering wheel column was removed along with the metal plate underneath. When I tried to start the car it would not turn over as if the key was grinding in the ignition. I believe they must have jammed something in the ignition to try and start the car. I finally with force could get the key to turnover and start the car. I also found that my car alarm wires were cut underneath the hood.

The also tried to steal my sirius sportster radio (the plug and play type that sit in a dock) the idiots had tried to break the radio off of the dock instead of just lifting it out. So i got lucky and only had my shifter **** stolen. It just sucks because I have had the car for seven years and that shifter **** was the one thing I was going to keep from the car when I sold it in a few year.

This was happened not 30 feet from my bedroom window in my townhouse complex in charlotte, nc. I just thought I would share with you guys as I have been lurking on this board for many years.

If anyone could point me in the right direction in where I could buy an OEM ITR shift **** or something comparable it would be appreciated.

Sorry to hear this. Glad you still have heR though. Be extra careful now, more than likely they'll be back within the next couple weeks. A lot of failed theft attempts are successful the next time around, because they know your security and are better prepared. Good luck with the repairs.

BTW, I was shocked this happened in East Amherst....until I read further. Woulda been a little too close to home...

That sucks, sad to say but you can’t have anything nice anymore, because there’s always some piece of **** trying to take what you have instead of working for it. I would definitely look into some anti-theft devices for your car. I haven’t driven my R in about 3 months now because every time I take it out, I have a line of cars following me home.

How 00-0686 (Mine) survived a year of daily driving at UNCC in Charlotte, I have no idea.

Glad your caR's still there man, it could have gone MUCH worst.

Glad you still have the R.

Although value wise (sentimental and cost) not in the same ballpark, a Skunk2 is comparable to an ITR shift **** in looks. It's heavier and looks great.

yeah def. i'm from the same area ... not to many cars get stolen, just parts jacked off the cars.

Glad to hear your R wasn't stolen.

Is there anyway you can park it somewhere enclosed? That way they can't steal your car as easily.

Glad it wasn't actually stolen. I've had too many dreams about my car getting stolen. Exactly why I've had my car not even 2 months and I'm going to sell it. I'm done trying to dodge honda theifs. I'm going European. I want a 337 GTI to replace it. Its like the Type R of the 99-05 GTI's.
