lost 2.5 quarts of oil in a weekend

Default lost 2.5 quarts of oil in a weekend

ok i got a 00 civic with a gsr swap. this weekend i was driving to NY from Boston total miles back and forth about about 550 miles i checked my oil this morning and i was missing 2.5 quarts. another thing is my car is smoking so is it the rings going bad? headgasket? or other problems?

if ur burning oil ur rings might be bad, and what color is the smoke in back of your car, also do u have any leak spots

It could be a number of things.

Have you done a compression and/or leakdown test?

a compression test and a wet compression test could help you out alot. or a vacuum test. it could be a couple of thing valve seal, piston rings, head gasket. thats why its good to do one of the test before you start replacing parts without knowing what was it.

I lost 2.5 quarts since my last oil change, which was in late July, and there is no smoke coming out of the exhaust. there arent any leaks where ever i park.

last oil change was 2 weeks ago the smoke is white but it doesnt smokemalot like when a headgaskets blown..how do i do a comp. test

white smoke is definately(spelling?) not oil burning.

are you sure you dont have any leaks?? if youre not leaking and lost 2.5qts than it has to be burning.

their some oil stains but tom. on my day off im gonna clean the head and part of the block to check for leaks. im pretty sure their are leaks but that wont make me lose 2.5 quarts over the weekend the leaks are very minimal

if i go into vtec a lot that happens to me. I have a b16 motor check your oil level after you go into vtec.

Most likely it is v-tec I think it is safe to say all Honda's use a little oil

this is my forth vtec engine i had 2 gsr's before and a tsx now..i dont think hitting vtec will burn 2.5 quarts of oil..
