Hey Guys:

Does anybody knows or know a place or a DIY on how to make a Homemade body kit for a car. What will I need in order to make it? Any info. will be gladly appreciated it.

 

The autocross guys make lips alot using parts from Home Depot

however for the new Si it really doesn't flow with the front end

sorry. had to post it. bad things come to mind when I think of homemade body kits.

in all seriousness I do think someone on here was making a lipkit themselves using foam that you can sand and shape and fiberglass laid on top. Not quite sure where that thread is though or how it turned out. I remember seeing pics that weren't looking too bad.

 

I wish someone would make a kit that matches the Si 'concept' that had the wide fenders and cool rear end.

I know this isn't the answer you wanted, but why risk ruining a brand new car? There are several companies that offer good body and lip kits already.

My personal favorite is the Tourenn lip kit (minus the side skirts, i'd get the factory skirts instead).

I bet you can find something you like

It matches the body lines quite well, and I'm tired of the HT sheep approach of everything under the sun. The front and rear lip match it quite well, the side skirts are best left factory.

 

i sort of like it, the only thing that i dont like is how the side skirt hangs lower then the front lip.

Yea, it hangs too low, and the other thing that bothers me is that stupid air scoop thing supposedly for the rear brake. And that indentation following the door looks ridiculous. But the OE sideskirt I think would match well with the kit.

Dude, that is awesome. I want one for my new daily driver. You know where I can get the plans?

The SI is now garaged for weekends, specially once I upgrade the supercharger with the stage 2 kit. Hope Comptech releases it soon.

 

You guys notice the mugen Si's lip is kind of bend upward? And the fake mugen lips out here for coupe and sedan are not really bent at all. I kind of like how the Mugen Si's lip is bending upward making it look more sportier. Too bad I have no pictures.

Real mugen Exterior parts are USUALLY fiberglass, but i THINK for the USDM mugen kit they are probably using urethane.

im trying something different then what people doing now, i just order mugen lip style and HFP rear lip, when i get it put on i post some pics. My car is fg2 figi blue
