Default Turbo not working right

My 5th gen base prelude is not working, but not properly. I just got finished putting the turbo kit on and it makes boost but the car gets laggy and stutters once the turbo is making max boost which is around 4k and suggestions.

Yeah, it sounds like you need to do some tuning...just bolting on a turbo kit has never worked.

You cant just bolt on a turbo and not tune it. That puts too much air into the motor and not enough fuel. Stop driving it and get it tuned before you blow your motor becuase its running to hot.

The car has an FMU for the fuel delievery for now until the computer gets sent off to get reprogrammed. I have an 94 integra ls with basically the same setup and and it ran normally after the installiation.

no no no no. you have to tune it. preludes and integras are not the same car. stop driving the lude with the fmu. get it tuned on a dyno with a compitant tuner.

what plug gap are you running?

the car will run fine on the FMU for now so long as its working correctly. But i would suggest getting the ecu and having it tuned ASAP. STAY OUT OF BOOST. But you cant determine that without a wideband.

tune is the key bro, FMU = crap, make you u gap your spark plug for turbo..i recommend the NGK v power 1 step colder..

u can't compare a b series to a H series..

wouldn't recommend you taking ur motor up that high at boost without tune..

you will have to get it tuned for like the 6th time. cant tune on the p13 though so yea i wouldnt boost unless you want to blow some **** up.

What are you running for a map sensor? Missing link? Bleeder valves?

What are you plugs gapped at? Are you running a colder plug?

FMU = H22 Death

I have stock plugs in it now I have new plugs gapped to .30 and my computer was just removed and sent off to be reprogrammed. Once its back the FMU will be removed.

What it's not just like Need For Speed Underground where you just put it on and all of the sudden the cars faster. That's weird dude.

apparently he understands this already but expected it to atleast run properly with the FMU.

my bet is on the spark plugs. stock plugs have too much gap for turbo.

Just throwin this question out there Ive heard several people say that your block needs to be resleeved to install forged pistons and others say that it is not required but other work needs to be done.

Do you know of a way to test an FMU to make sure it is working properly. Right now it is not installed on the car.
