Default swap is in but major problems need help.

ok guys i did my swap over the weekend. the motor i thought i was getting was suposed to be a 97 ls-vtec. when i got it the block says b18a1 which is pre 94 right? well i have hasport mounts for dc into eg. and i have the rear motor mount bracket from a 94 teg. my first problem was the rear bracket doesnt line up???? and the mounting bracket on the drivers side is different no forks facing up for the mount??? and the tranny mount a was a pain to get on. finally got it to sit in and now the car isnt taking any gears i can have car running and shift through all gears without the clutch? i do need to hold clutch down to start the car. im so lost any help wuld be greatly appreciated.

well the block being a a1 is a earlier year the motor mounts from a dc and a eg are the same the back bracket should be a gsr rear bracket but about it not letting you put gears in the motor is in a bind or tranny may have problems

Yes, a1 is pre-94...but that doesnt change anything else. Mounts are still the same.
Regarding the rear mount - are you sure your dc mount is from a manual (5spd?) Auto mounts are different and would cause it to misalign.
Are you talking about the chassis mount or the bracket that attaches to the engine (shaped like a 7 or L)

If you have a timing side bracket at all, yours is missing the studs. It should have two, just like the civic one.

"Not taking any gears"?? I dont understand...
Is it that it drives w/o engaging the clutch or that you cannot shift?

Is it a cable or hydro? might want to check into that.

it is the L bracket and that makes sense i have to go back to the junk yard and check i never checked the tranny as i thought they were the same. thanks. also i can have the car running and put it into first gear and release the clutch and it does nothing at all. but i can not start the car unless i press the clutch. so i know the clutch is working.

im pretty sure its a hydro tranny how can i tell a difference? there is no place for a cable and the slave cylinder is attached and the clutch is working.

The clutch isnt working. You only activate a clutch switch, to start the car (this is bypassed for doing remote start on 5spd transmissions)
Do you even have a clutch? Axles? I know thats a dumb question...but you never know...

Regarding the L bracket, you are using your stock civic chassis mount? It is 5spd originally, right?
I dont think the bracket itself makes a difference, auto to manual.
Of course, you dont have a driver side mount...so that would throw off the rear...

I know this is really dumb but is the car on the ground? If you have the front jacked up and wheels aren't touching then you can shift through the gears with minimal/no clutch.

yes i have a clutch and axles all are connected. the rear bracket is not lining up to the block not the chassis mount i have the hasport kit all 3 mounts. i have a drivers side mount it just isnt bolted up like normal. i have bolts in place of the studs...

if u look at the pictures u can see the car is on the floor. if i put the car in gear and push it it still moves(off) if i start it and put it in gear and release clutch nothing happens. the car goes into the gear they just arent engaging i am stumpd
