car won't start
i pulled into work this morning. shut off my engine. then realized i forgot something. so i tried to turn the car back on and it wont start. what could be the problem? i recently had my water pump and timing belt changed and other belts. lights still work. what could be the problem.
im thinking it might be the main relay. i had the same problem a few months ago replaced it with another used one. ive heard if i kick or smack below the dashboard it should work in the mean time. we've had crazy weather here in sf...rainy for 2 days then hot as fawk..
pop the hood and look for anything out of the ordinary, then check if you have spark from your coil and spark plug wires. check if your timing belts still intact, check to see if you hear the fuel pump prime up.. if it doesn't it could be the main relay going bad.. fuel pump are not likely to fail like that.
sometime it the smallest thing that can cause a car not to start...

i have a spark and everything...its an intermittent start...sometimes it would start then it wont...then i have to wait a couple of minutes...then start it..i brought it to the shop and they couldnt find anything wrong..i turn the key to "on" position. check engine light will turn on and then after a few seconds turn off.

20 bucks says its the relay. It wont crank over after u have been driving it for a while or if its been sitting in the hot sun. But hitting the dash or waiting a min or two for it to cool of and it works. Sounds familiar???
we'll find out in a couple more days if it was or not...so far no problems...home to work, work to lunch, lunch to work, and work to home..started up fine..
