Default how long would it take to swap a d15? haha.

haha.. well heres the story, i had an eg and wrecked it (not my fault) and i just picked up another one a few days ago.

i got my new one for dirt cheap because the pistion rings are shot and it smokes like hell. I told myself i could live with the smoke until i get my LS in a week or 2 but now i dont know if i can... i have to be EXTREMELY easy on the gas or else the people behind me get a nice smoke screen in their face..

so i was wondering how long it would take to swap the stock d15 from my first eg, into this one.. and would it be worth it? or should i just wait?

Not worth the work for only a 2 week wait on the LS swap. Wait 2 weeks and only do it once.

Swap in and out with air tools and a lift, it took roughly 3 hours for my buddy and i. So if u dont have air tools and a lift id say about 9 hours to get it done.(talking out my *** on the time estimate but just what i think it would take). 9 hours or so to put a new motor in and drive it reliably while u get everything ready for a ls swap vs 2 weeks of driving a car that makes u feel shameful when u get on the gas is worth it to me.

Meh. D swaps are short and sweet, but if you're getting the LS in a week or two, I'd say to hold off on the work. You'll be happier/less tired of the labor when putting the LS in isn't your second engine swap in two weeks.

I assisted on my first engine swap this past weekend and If you have air tools I dont see why it shouldnt take less than 4-5 hours going slow and taking your time. The swap is pretty straight forward. Get some air tools, pry bars and ratchets and you are good to go. Having a helper is always good.

2 people, air tools, and if you don't have a lift, half a day to drop it through the bottom with breaks to eat, **** and bullshit.

I prefer to drop it through the bottom
