my odometer and tripometer intermitently craps out on me, when it does it last for about 20-50 miles. any idea whats going on and how to fix it? the car is a 95 LX auto btw.

 

I had that problem. Someone recommended that I reset the maintenance indicator thingy. It worked. I guess they're linked, 'cause the maintenance indicator goes from green to yellow to red at fixed distances.

by the way, if it is a VSS thats like a 20$ fix from a junkyard.

No it's not. The speedometer would be going out too.

Just hit the maintenance reset a few times and it should start working again.

 

ok coo. i'll try the maint. thing. and yea, the VSS did cross my mind at first, but my speedo is working fine, so i ruled that out.

 

my spedo worked when my VSS was going out...buy a junker one and I bet it'll fix the problem

 

omg i replaced my VSS and it was so hard to get to lol... Just sayin' good luck though!
