Default NEW CTR PISTONS

I am putting ctr pistons in my motor. I have heard that ctr pistons have a problem clearing with a gsr head. I was told that they can hit the valves. I have itr pistons now but am changing to raise the compression. If anyone can let me know about this clearance issue it will really help. Thank you.

I ran CTR's in one of my old motors.

I ended up using a cometic .054" headgasket to lower the compression to pump gas numbers (around 12.5:1). This was using a non milled/decked head and block.

P30 pistons are prolly a better choice IMO.

CTR can be DD, but will definately need a Tune.... i have blown 2 LSvtec with CTR piston before...melted 2 pistons and broke several ring lands on each motor because of no tunning.... last one i build with CTR piston ran good cause i had it tuned... made 210whp and 141lbs. tq did 12.6 @ 109mph...but eventually i sold it!

i have over 25,000 miles on my daily-driven build with CTR pistons using 91 octane.

1) Clay the motor for p2v clearance
2) get a wideband o2 w/ air-fuel guage
3) tune that ****
