The root cause - morons filling my gas tank and not closing the cap properly.
My gas cap seems to screw-in halfway, then clicks a few times.. however there's still almost 2 full turns left until it's fully closed.
Push-in Firmly, and turn your gas cap at the same time.
There's a trick to it, so the cap seals completely before clicking.
I know some of you say it's not the cap, but it happened to me.</TD></TR></TABLE>
and im not even sure if my gas cap is closed all the way or not, but i just know it broke on me, saw a lil white piece come off, and now it just spins, it wont open or close if it isnt closed all the way..
how do i open the gas cap ? who else sells oem replacements rather then the dealer?

Gas is over-rated anyways. Now nobody can put sugar in your tank.
On a serious note... you can always drill into it... not in the middle though because then flakes can go into your gas tank. Drill one on opposite sides and put a couple screw drivers in to hold it and turn. Might work might not. Just a suggestion.
If that doesn't work... just use a lil saw to start breaking it apart and i'm sure you will get to the point where you can put a big plier over it and turn it.

i dont really think drilling will hurt it - the gas flap itself is just that - a flap that must be depressed - but i'd save that for the last resort - channel locks ( regardless of what you use - be careful of the threads on that neck)

have u tried piercing it with a knife to make holes that u can use pliars or something to turn the gas cap with? like 2 parallel slits that will let your pliars in to pinch/turn the gascap out. just be very careful you're piercing it and not cracking it.
if u can't get through with a knife + human force.
hold the knife like a serial killer
put the point on the gascap + tap with hammer until u poke through
if for some reason u still cant turn it out, well u have a hole that u can now access to rip the rest of the gas cap out. good luck yO

gas itself isnt flammable - its the vapors, but i meant the top of the cap ( maybe i shouldve explained myself better ) not the sides ( but i agree - this should be the LAST thing that should be done - avoid this if possible )

thanks for the advice , hopefully i can get it off w/o having to hack away at the cap
but first i need to find a gas cap to replace it with,
RSX gas cap same as S2k gas cap?

Try to stick your finger in the gas tank, you have to depress a flap down to get in.
