Default Intermittent Starting Problem

I have a 91 civic with a gsr swap in it and it doesnt start about 5% of the time. About 5% of the time when I turn the key I can hear my fuel pump kick on but my car does not turn over at all. I replaced my battery and starter and check my battery connections but they were all good. I do not have my alarm integrated in the starting system right now. When it doesnt start I can turn my car to on and take a wire from positive of battery to remote wire of starter and it starts up everytime. I tested the volts at battery when I start it and they go down to 10. I tested the volts at battery when it didnt start and it goes down to 10 but at the remote wire of starter it only has 8 volts.

replace the box to starter wire and fuse. and check your main relay for corrosion.

The under hood main starter wire from the under hood fuse box. Or the starter signal wire that comes from the under dash fuse box?

But if the start solenoid was bad then why would my car start when I use a jumper wire to go from the positive terminal of the battery to the solenoid of the starter? I have check my grounds but I will double check them again. Thanks for the ideas

i actually have a similar problem but sometims when i got to start it u can hear the solenoid click but dosent turn over it usually goes after a few trys, but also sometimes when i go to do it i lose all power but i let it sit check the connection on the positive side of the battery (relocation to the trunk) and it works fine. but its not often usually after it sits overnight.

It sounds like you got a bad starter solenoid or your battery is to low to start your car.

Bserieskllr sounds like u have a bad ground from the battery to where it hooks on the support. check that and get back to me.
