Intermittent Starting Problem
I have a 91 civic with a gsr swap in it and it doesnt start about 5% of the time. About 5% of the time when I turn the key I can hear my fuel pump kick on but my car does not turn over at all. I replaced my battery and starter and check my battery connections but they were all good. I do not have my alarm integrated in the starting system right now. When it doesnt start I can turn my car to on and take a wire from positive of battery to remote wire of starter and it starts up everytime. I tested the volts at battery when I start it and they go down to 10. I tested the volts at battery when it didnt start and it goes down to 10 but at the remote wire of starter it only has 8 volts.
The under hood main starter wire from the under hood fuse box. Or the starter signal wire that comes from the under dash fuse box?
check the starter silonoid. but b4 that check and clean all the grounds then give it a try. I had that problem and it was jsut a bad ground. let em no how it goes.
But if the start solenoid was bad then why would my car start when I use a jumper wire to go from the positive terminal of the battery to the solenoid of the starter? I have check my grounds but I will double check them again. Thanks for the ideas
