I just got a new Precision SC 61 Turbo and being brand new I dont think it had any shaft play but I didnt check it. So I went and adjusted the exhaust housing to get it where it needs to be. After that I noticed that there was minor shaft play on the turbo, like I said I didnt check it before but I dont think there would be any shaft play on a new turbo. Should I be concerned about this? How could adjusting the exhaust housing caused this shaft play and how can I fix it? Thx for the help guys. . .

 

Did you tighten it down in a star pattern? The shaft will have some movement in it. Minor, but normal.

 

All new turbos have minor shaft play it will be fine when the engine is started and the oil flows through the turbo adjusting the exhaust housing would not cause this.
