Default New starter, car won't start

Hello all. I just replaced the starter on my car less than a month ago (because it wasn't starting), and it ran fine. Started up right away everytime, and then out of the blue, my car wouldn't start. Won't turn over at all.

Have a new starter
New ignition switch
New battery
fuses are good
Cleaned all the grounds

Could the dizzy/plugs/wires cause the motor to not turn over at all? All I get when I try to start it is a click. Fuel pump primes too. Thanks for any help!

That's now what I'm thinking. My roommate and I just went up to see if we could get anything else to get it running. Took the starter out, made sure it spun freely, and cleaned the positive battery terminal (since it looked a little corroded). We also tested the battery just for giggles.

Put everything back together, and sometimes we could hear a click come from the starter, but the motor still wouldn't turn over.

Last resort, we push started it and it fired right up. Drove it back to the house, turned it off and tried restarting it, same thing as before.

Do you think for the extra $100 a reman starter from Honda would be better? I am really thinking those may be the better way to go.

I'm guessing nobody has had experiences with Honda (reman) starters.

I've figured that out, but do you or anyone else think that a reman from Honda would be more reliable than a reman from Autozone? I mean, I've already been through 2 in less than a month, and philosofy1 tried 3. I want to sell my car, but want it to be reliable, so I don't want to get a junk starter.

have you tried jumping the starter posts with a screwdriver? if it works... could be an ignition or starter solenoid problem.

Also check the ground wire that goes from the body to the tranny. I had the same issue.. cleaned the grounds. They looked perfect and it still did not work. Then looking at the wire that goes from the body to the tranny... I saw that it had a bulge in it.. so I cut back the casing and found that it had a ton of corrosion. replaced it with a new wire... and bam.. fired right up.

Well, since we could jump start it, that would be the same as jumping the starter motor (i.e. bypassing the solenoid), so the conclusion is the solenoid is bad. This we figured out after my original post.

This is what I wanted to know. I did read in another post as well that people have had some trouble with aftermarket. Thanks for the info!
