General maintenance ??
95 Del Sol Si, 5 spd MT, 109000 miles.
I've owned the car since ~ 65000 miles, and have done nothing as far as maintenance except for routine oil/fluid changes (Usually jiffy or similar). I don't think it ever had much done to it before.
so, I'm thinking the following before I start playing around with it:
Cleaning engine (simple green/gunk)
Changing spark plugs
Changing spark plug wires
Changing or cleaning air filter (Short ram intake)
Changing fuel filter
Anything else I should be thinking about?

Huh, ok. I thought you didn't have to change the distributor unless it crapped out.
Oil and filter I'll have done, my wife got talked into one of those "punchcard" service deals, guess I'll use it up.

X2, sorry for not making that clear.
The Cap and rotor on the dizzy should be replaced for general maintenance, its not hard and does not involve taking the unit off the car.

i know the distibutor cap and rotor has been mentioned already, but you can also change out the tranny fluid as well.
don't know how mechanically inlcined you are, but replacing the brake fluid will help too. or am i going to far with this?

While your at it, throw in a Type R motor
lol i kidd i kidd.
Trans fluid is a good thing to do as well.
Bleed the brakes maybe ( requires adding more fluid, which in turn would be like changing it)

Yeah, I'll get right on that
Heh. I gotta say though, I did get caught with something like that when I was a brand new EMT. Part of the n00b's job is to check out the ride, stock levels, etc.
Last thing the guy said as I was going out the door was "Dont' forget to check the siren fluid."
So, they come out of the station an hour later wondering where the frack I am, and I've got the entire siren unit disassembled looking for the ******* fluid dipstick....

Mechanically inclined, but way inexperienced. Part of the problem is I live in an apartment complex and am short on tools and space. Got a Haynes manual, when I start getting into the rest I'll get a Helms.
Here's my complete plans, and most of this will be DIY (My father in law has space I can use down the line):
Preparatory: Alarm, and the kill switches etc. outlined in site at the top of the FAQ, maybe new stereo/amp at this time too, we'll see. Oh, and putting in the AC compressor I'm getting shipped. No AC in Phoenix sucks.
Stage 1: Replace brake pads, rotors (Solid, not drilled or anything), calipers and lines, replace left front axle (Was told a while ago it needed it)
Stage 2: (Possibly at same time, depends on $$), KGB AYX shocks, some sort of coilover (Wavering between tein s and skunk 2), adding front and rear stiffening struts, new rimes/tires (15s, maybe 16's no bigger)
Stage 3: Compression test, turbo kit. Looking at probably 8ish lbs of boost, aiming for 210-220 whp off of a D16z. (This will be done for me, I don't have welding skills), hondata tune
Stage 4: Replacing interior carpet, minor exterior stuff (wiper arms, etc.), recovering interior pleather, spraying the plastics, different seats, yadda yadda.
Stage 5: Muted/subtle body kit, touch up base paint, and two tone upper paint/stripe. that way I don't have to pay to repaint the entire car (engine bay, etc.), but the whole car won't be boring *** white.
Hopefully before I get to stage 3 I'll have a different car for a DD. I've thought about lighter cams, etc., but since I'm not going to be racing/dragging, I don't think it's needed.
