91 CRX HF with 89 SI motor motor will crank but not turn on ??
Here is the story I have a 89 SI CRX and a HF with a b16 motor. I decided to swap things out as the SI is cleaner and now when I did the swap the motor will not turn on. THe motor will crank and it appears as if there is fuel but no turning on. I did not see any spark I took out the cables and stuck a screw driver near the dizzy but nothing. What can I check next. I don't want to by the helms book for this so please help me out here.
WHen I put the key to the on position I hear a slight noise like the fuel pump but on my other cars it cuts off after a while but now it just sounds like it stays on.

Check the resistance of the coil, how?
oh, I had this motor in the SI and it ran fine. I suspect it has to do with the wiring as I did not remove the engine harness at all just disconnected from the shock towers and dropped it. He had the b16a in this chasis and I think my brother did some re wiring. Just don't know what and he can't remember.

I figured out what it was. I swapped a b16 that was in an 91 HF into a 89 si chasis. I did not swap out the harnesses that were on the motors so when I put everything together it would not have spark.
I swapped the harnesses and put them in the corresponding chasis and vuala it all worked. I am sure I could have swapped out some wires (pins) but I could not find any info and did not want to sit with the helms book for hours. There it is DONT SWAP CHASIS HARNESSES unless you konw what the hell is going to happen.
figured I'd share

MAke sure that the wires under your distributor are plugged in, one is for the coolant temperature sensor and the other i think is for the coil? I had the same problem and foudn that i forgot to plug these in. So just take a quick peek under your distributor.
