put the wheel on, put the car on the ground and crack the nut with either a impact gun or a big 1/2 inch drive breaker bar with a pole on the end of the handle for leverage, or. with the wheels off, put a pry bar in between 2 studs and have one person hold it, then break the nut loose with the 1/2 inch drive breaker bar with a pole or somethin on the end for leverage.

and heres a CRUDE picture i drew, lol. so u can better understand how to place the prybar in the studs to prevent the hub from spinning, obviously the red part is the prybar.

Hahaha, that's cute.

That won't do anything but get your lug nuts off and on real quick. I love using those at the track. But this is for stuck axles...You'll need either some liquid wrench and an air gun or one buddy holding the pry bar while you use your breaker bar to get those axles off like the diagram above.

Use a small flat head screwdriver and hammer, to try and get the staked part of the nut out of the groove, it helps greatly...

Be sure and put some lug nuts on the studs you use so you don't mess the threads up...

Don't ask me how I know this

if you are alone, it is possible to use a long pry bar and get this wedged between the two studs (with lug nuts) and then get the bar set on the ground. . . that way you can old it with your foot or anything else, and then turn the nut off.

Have an assistance hold the other end of axle to keep axle from spinning on floor and use a 1/2 impact gun to remove it. The axle nut is at 136 ft lbs shouldn't be hard.

like most people, I work in my driveway. I also own an air compressor, impact, air ratchets, etc. And I've got an electric impact (lots of torque, not battery operated). Buy one or borrow from a friend.

having the right tools for the job is. you wouldn't hammer a nail in the wall with a shoe would you?

Have somebody in the car on the brake pedal, and use a 32mm socket with 1/2 drive ratchet and a breaker bar to loosen it. That's what I did.

having the right tools for the job doesnt mean owning a compressor and power tools. there isnt one job on a car that i cant do with hand tools.

hammer a nail with a shoe? whats that mean? you trying to tell me that a wratchet and socket is equivalent to a shoe? rrrrrrrright.

i was just trying to show him how to do the job with COMMON TOOLS. its real easy to have zero skill in mechanics and just tell someone "oh sorry man, im afraid your gonna have to go buy a 300 dollar compressor and a 300 dollar impact gun and a 20 dollar impact socket to get that job done"

hand tools are the right tools for the job. electric and air tools just make it a little easier and faster thats all. air tools dont make the mechanic.

You got it! Not everyone has that kind of money for air tools. I have removed and or replaced nearly every part on several Hondas I have owned, including stripping two for parts, all w/out an air tool. The one time an air tool would be handy is the crankshaft bolt, but I'm not going to spend lots of money for the very few times I have to remove that. I go to my local garage and have them loosen it for me, then I tighten it down and drive home, slip them a $5.00 for their troubles. Or if the engine is out of the vehicle, I put it in the back of a pickup truck and take it to my local garage for the same thing.

Thats what I use all the time when I do swaps or clutches in cars. It takes the axle nuts off without even undoing the crimp.
