You'll need the tools to do it, and experience too because the edges of windshields are pretty fragile. Trust me, I know. I cracked my windshield just trying to remove the molding around it. Its worth going to an auto glass place and paying them $40 to remove it if you plan on keeping it.

It is much simpler than you guys are making it sound

1. Get a putty knife. Sharpen it on some sand paper or something

2. Get some 409 (the cleaning ****)

3. Spray the 409 all the way around the rim of the windshield, use it as a lubricant to keep the putty knife moving

4. use the putty knife to cut the urethane from the glass by just sliding it threw. make sure you do it evenly, so you don't crack it.

Just take your time, plenty of 409

Another thing you can do is get an area started, and thread piano wire through it. Then just drag it around the windshield and you will have it cut out, just be careful. Again, use lube. Soap and water, 409, w/e you want.

And if you are doing this on a DA, make sure you take those side trim pieces off, and that plastic guard **** that goes over your windshield wiper arms. It makes it easier if you have your dash out but it isn't neccesary.
