Default type s motor in an SH?

ok so ive been told that a jdm H22 prelude type s motor will fit perfect in my SH. what i really need to know is if this is true, will it fit perfectly, and if it will go in without any kind of converting or adding on. ive also been told that the ATTS system will work with the type s. help?

I'm not going to tell you there's not any converting, but the JDM Type S had the ATTS system, like the USDM Type SH.

Check the FAQ's, might be some info there, or just do a search on them.

Yea I checked the FAQ's but there isn't anything that pertains to my 5th gen prelude, only the 4th gen. So do you know exactly what it would require to mount it in?

the only prob is that JDM ecu cut out at 120mph so you would need to change that if you plan to go faster and JDM engines run off 100 octane gas so you would need to buy some octane booster if you want the 220hp and fuel efficency of the motor

Straight drop in. I would ditch the ATTS and get a m2a4 or m2b4 instead since your gonna have the motor out anyways.

Direct swap. I'm not sure the difference the ECU's but if at all possible, get the Type S ECU with it just for safe measure. They're both ATTS compatible.

Its a direct bolt in. The jdm ecu however shuts the fuel off at 120 mph. For Our shops conversion we just purchased a skunk2 ecu to solve this problem . We thought it had power b4 lol .

the atts from your sh will work with the type s, I saw your car at the shop your getting the swap done. the atts functions as the intermidiate shaft. there are many posts on here about this...piratemcfred sells adapter plates and custom intermidiate shafts for the non atts approach. IM gonna stop by the shop later

get the jdm tranny...

100octane for the 220hp? LOL.

It drops right in like a glove. ATTS is the same as the US version, im running my US ATTS unit on my Type-S motor and it runs fine. The JDM ECU should come included with the motor if you buy it from a good dealer. I bought mine from HMO and it came with everything and it was super clean. The only thing you have to do is swing the ECU harness connectors under the intake manifold to be able to connect it to the passenger side since the JDM motors are set up for right hand drive.
