Well i got a 98 prelude sh, and i plan to do a jdm h22 type s swap with lsd tranny this year. I know the sh block is diffrent from a base block due to the atts unit, but I was confused about what i need to change to make to drop in the jdm motor? i know i need to change the tranny which i am, but would i need to change the sh axles and sh intermediate shaft to the base model versions? and what else would i need to do to be able to drop in the motor?

The TypeS engine comes with ATTS, not LSD. In fact it uses the same transmission as the TypeSH. Therefore, nothing special would be required as far as that is concerned.

yea i know the jdm type s has sh but im not planning to put that jdm type sh in my car...i plan to drop in the base jdm type s...and yea thanks but...anyone else that knows, or can help me out?

if you don't want an SH, go with a Euro R

well, if thats the case that the type s motor comes with the atts unit, then im trying to get rid of the atts unit, for heavy building of the motor. Ok so if i go euro R then would the motor just drop in the chassis of a 5th generation prelude?

Yes, the Euro R full swap will bolt right in, mostly the same motor, better intake manifold and transmission gearing though.

If you want a EuroR swap, sell the SH and buy a base model. No sense in using it if you don't want ATTS.

well i would do that but, my car has slightly high mileage, so it wouldn't be possible to sell it and get a base model. Also i am the second owner, the first owner took very good care of the car, and when i purchased the car the interior was excellent condition and body. So no use of selling it. I just want to drop a euro R motor in it, and build an all motor bb6, therefore i have no use of the ATTS h22a4. I probably just keep the h22a4 and take off the atts unit, get a new tranny and drop it in a hatchback. Or keep it for smog purposes. Thats my reason for not selling it, and getting a base model.

The engines are pretty much the same with minor differences. If all you want to do is get rid of ATTS, why don't you just swap transmissions?

Euro R motor seems the same as the SiR S Spec. I'd bet it costs less because its not an R motor. Try that.

i could sell it...but due to the high miliage i wouldn't get enough money for it..also like i said the body and interior is in excellent condition...and thats good to go...

yea there are the same...except fot the euro R manifold other than that, pretty much the same...but the jdm type s block has the atts unit, which i do not need..

So the type s engine will bolt up directly in a 2001 SH and work fine with the atts system and transmission?

you have to use JDM ecu so there might be some electrical/sensor swapping to do
