recently i have been smelling gas fumes in the car. My friend says that is i am smelling that since i dont have a charcoal canister. but as far as i kno i still have it ....( it is like a black can with 2 vacuum lines on the top and i think a fatter one at the bottom.

another friend that was driving behind me this weekend told me that my car is running really rich and that he could smell gas while he was driving behind me.

how ever, i have a Hondata S300 so i replaced my current map with the stock P72 Base map ( Oh yes sorry, I have a B18C in a EG ) and i still smell the gas. so i dont think the car is runnin that rich. i played with settings adding and taking fuel and i continue to get the same results.

Anyone can tell me what could be the problem?

I am not seeing gas leaking anywhere. my fuel pressure is like 36-38 at idle and when i acceletate to full throttle i get like 42-44 psi (is that correct) .

I am not seeing any trace or leaking in the engine bay either... any suggestions

 

not sure but just a comment...could it be that you have an exhaust leak? not really sure on that but i though one of my friend was saying somthing about that. i could be totally wrong!!! lol!

 

Humm.... i will check that.....but i dont "hear" it leaking ( like hissing through any cracks or anything but it is worth a shot.

In my boyfriends car we smell it once in a while but then the check engine light goes on and its a small evap leak so if you do emissions you could fail right now but thats what it might be... idk
