Are all 92-95 4DR Civic EX has d16z6 engine vtec?
Well I just got a 1992 Civic EX 4dr which has stock d16z6 engine. But there is no Vtec logo on the engine..
Does this one has Vtec on it? I can't really tell by just looking at it. I know this is a stock motor because it only has 1 owner and he bought it new in 1992 and I'm the 2nd owner.
I tried to look in the FAQ section but I can't find it.

yes that is a v-tec motor....some honda motors don't have the vtec logo stamped on it, depending on the year of the car. you should see a vtec solenoid right behind the valve cover....look in the upper right hand corner...you should see it....another way you can tell is by looking at the spark plug wires on the valve cover....if they are facing close to the front, then it is vtec, if it faces towards the firewall, then it is non-vtec...

im absolutely a newbie on boost. first time i will do it. i'd start with my d16 and see how far I will go.
i have had about 6 or 7 civic EGs already but all stock since I'm not yet ready for boost. $$$ wise. i want this a daily driver too because I also have a mercedes 190e 16v that I only use on Thu/Fri.

1.) there are no factory polished valve covers.
2.) no Honda or Acura valve cover EVER has had "VTECH" imprinted on it.
No amount of prayer will stem the tide of noobies.
