hose problem, spraying coolant
so i finally bought a new radiator and a new bottom hose and she was running perfect.
now on my way to school i saw my car steaming again so i went home to look at it.
there is a small hose that has a hole leaking my coolant almost to my firewall and i dont have a pic so i cant exactly show you guys. but its connected to something (honestly dont know what it is) and that connects to the hose that goes to the radiator.
point is i need to know what hose that is. and my fan stopped working, could it possibly be because coolant could have got to it?
thanks in advance

The only hose I could think of going into the firewall is for the heater core. (thing that makes heat on the cold winter months)
Anyways, replace the hose. Nothing much to it. Does your fan work at all? Turn on the A/C or jump it. 2 should be turned on at the same time.

my heater or A/C doesnt work. so i cant test it like that. could the fact that i ran the car without the fan connected for a few days have anything to do with the hose?
and i havent tried it since last friday because ive been busy and been driving my other car.
thanks

Check hondaautomotiveparts.com
Put in your car's particulars (since you didn't tell us what kind of car...)
Look at 'water pump', 'water hose', 'water valve' and similar sections to see if you can find the hose you're talking about.

Well, there are a number of return and bypass lines back there. The hearter core hose is a possibility but i work extensively on a number of accords. Most of the time on higher mileage cars the lines that compose that labyrinth behind the intake mani are the culprit as that just go unnoticed by many. take the throttle body and intake hoses apart and remove those lines to see which it is and replace those which may pose problems in the future. That stuff from autozone will almost certainly have to be cut to fit as they are always too long. Make sure too that they are oriented correctly as you don't want to put them back twisted. If you do a lot of your own work on the car buy some hose clamps that aren't the type where one end is split so you only have to fight to get them off once. Thats just my two cents
ok...so it was the coolant by-pass hose. i believe its connected to the heater core? correct me if im wrong please. i also replaced the thermostat, but my needle it still climbing to H. so now it can be a blown head gasket, the water pump, and can a bad sensor also be the problem. for example the one connected to the thermostat?
any help greatly appreciated

can it be a sensor?</TD></TR></TABLE>It can be a lot of things...
Most years, the sender for the dashboard temperature gauge is in the head, with only one wire. Measure resistance at different temperatures to compare against what it should be.

1990 honda accord ex 2dr 5 spd 180,xxxx
1. new radiator and new bottom radiator hose
2. new thermostat
3. new coolant by-pass hose
(just the maintenance for this problem)

do i check for pressure on the bottom rad hose?
yes i did bleed it. although when i took out the thermostat and put the new one in i did not. it shouldnt affect it in overheating though? right?
and yes there still is radiator fluid
thanks
