For pump gas? Generally speaking yes, it's too high.

anything beyond 13 is quite high on pump gas (assuming 94 Octane rating)

in the north east i wouldnt go over 12.5:1. 13:1 is quite high and ur gonna have to pull alot of timing out of it so that u wont knock.

I think 11:5 Cr is the ideal static ratio since you will be able to tune on pump gas and still run a big cam without running into detonation or pulling tons of timing. I dont know why people think they need to run crazy *** CR in order to make decent power..

i like this guy. advertised compression is completly different than ur actuall static compression. 11.5:1-12.0:1 should be the max on the east.

You don't need that high of CR.

But yes. You actually CAN run 13.1 CR on 91 pump gas with a good tune. I've seen it done at the shop where my motor is being built.

But seriously, you don't need this.

Dynamic compression will also play a role in driveability w/ high compression engines.

(big cams )

yea if ur gonna go with a high compression i hope u choose the cams accordingly. 13:1 on 91 aint happening without pulling almost all of the timing out of it. i had an issue with a 12.5:1 setup on 93 lol let alone 13:1 on 91.
