My 2000 Honda Accord is making a loud bang noise whenever it is first started. If the car is warmed up it will not make the bang. Does anyone know what could be causing this, and if I should get it checked out?

I have noticed this on my 99 EX. Its not really that loud on mine, but there is a fairly pronounced knock.

 

piston slap will make a knocking sound until the piston warms up and expands to fill up more of the cylinder. this goes back to the science of expansion and contraction due to temp.
