Default what will i need to know about redoing my bottom end

Alright guys, so i've got a minime swap(d16a6 blck w/the d16y8 head), just bought:

-75mm Low compression Pistons

-NPR Pistons Rings

-Eagle H- Beam Rods with ARP 2000 Bolts

-ACL Race Engine Bearings

-Cometic MLS Race Head Gasket

-Valve Cover Gasket

-H-Beam Rod Specs

-5.394" Rod Length
-1.890" Crank Pin -.827" Piston pin
-B.E Width .892" -Bushed Fit Pins - Floating

-NPR Chrome Rings

-Full Floating Pins and Pin Locks

-Pistons are made by Y.C.P.

Just curious as to how i would go about installing the ACL race bearings, my friend told me that i would have to measure gaps and etc. From what he said is that you will need more than just the basic knowlege of cars to do this because this is how ppl go about spinning bearings and all that good stuff i dont need right now.

Any info would help

thanks
-Laka

use plastigauge to measure your main and rods bearing clearances. use a feeler gauge to measure ur pistone ring end gaps

You may be better off using honda bearings. Unlike the ACL's they are available in multiple sizes. The ACLS are rumored to be similar to the Green Bearings.
But if your crank/rods/mains are differnt sizes that that.. you may need to end up getting a honda bearing anyway.

on the block and cranks are bearing code stamps.
you match these up in the manual to determine the bearing color that you need to install.

What I did was:
1.)Buy all the color bearings that the crank/block told me to get
2.)Install the new bearings
3.)Check the clearances with plastigauge
4.)Bought new bearings based on the clearences that I needed
5.)installed new (2nd set) bearings
6.)Checked the clearances with the new (2nd set) bearings
7.) bought another bearing or two to get things perfect.

Due to wear or just original machining the ACL's may be less than ideal.
If you are hell bent on using them, then you need to check the clearances.

check the honda manual.

Different motors and difference mains have difference clearances.
